END_OBJECT = TEXT END This directory contains Voyager 1 PWS spectrum analyzer edited 4-second wave electric field intensities. These data were recorded during the Voyager 1 Jupiter encounter period, 1979-02-28 to 1979-03-22. Data are stored as 23 VAX binary files (.DAT), each covering a single day and named for the day covered. Files naming follows the convention Tyymmdd where yy = year after 1900 (79 for 1979), mm = month of year, and dd = day of month. Each data file has a PDS label file (.LBL) which describes some properties of the data file. There is a single format file (VG1PWSEL.FMT) which describes the columns of the data files. The file VG1PWSCL.TAB contains calibration information used for converting the uncalibrated 'data numbers' contained in data files to calibrated volts. A PDS label (VG1PWSCL.LBL) and format file (VG1PWSCL.FMT) are also provided for this file. The file DATASET.TXT contains additional information on data set contents and use.
