END_OBJECT = TEXT END This directory contains Voyager 1 PLS 96 second inbound and outbound magnetosheath L-mode ion data. These data were recorded during the Voyager 1 Jupiter encounter and span the time periods 1979-02-28T14:36:12.546 to 1979-03-03T02:20:12.781 and 1979-03-13T00:02:44.136 to 1979-03-24T23:19:32.241. The data are stored as 2 ASCII tables (.TAB), one covering each of the periods listed above, and named for the day on which the interval covered begins. File naming follows the convention Tyyddd where yy = the last two digits of the year (79 for 1979), and ddd = day of year. Each data file is accompanied by a separate PDS label file (.LBL), and format file (.FMT) which describe the properties and column format of the data files. The file DATASET.TXT contains a more detailed description of data set contents.
