Here's how we start to get science data into das2. This spectrogram renderer has a DataSetDescriptor that it uses to get data for the visible plot. This type of DataSetDescriptor uses a das2Server at Iowa to read in Voyager 1 data. Note that you can zoom in down to the instrument's intrinsic resolution (4 seconds), and zoom out to a time scale of months or years if you're patient.
