END_OBJECT = TEXT END Galileo Magnetometer Cruise Data Mission Phase Name: Earth-Venus cruise,Venus-Earth cruise, Earth-Earth cruise,Earth-Jupiter Cruise Useful Files: INFO.TXT Describes the data .TAB data files The Galileo magnetometer Cruise Data is being archived as three different data sets and has been subdivided in to three directories entitled EDR, IRC, and RTN. The EDR directory contains Galileo magnetometer data given in it's original format as delivered to the Galileo Magnetometer by the Galileo project. The EDR files are given in IBM 370 binary representation and are stored in an extremely compact format The IRC directory contains the Galileo magnetometer processsed data in inertial rotor coordinates(despin spacecraft coordinates). This coordinate system has the Z axis along the rotor spin axis, positive away from the antenna and the X and Y axes lies in the rotor spin plane. Beneath this directory is the TEMP directory. The TEMP directory contains magnetometer temperature data used in determining sensor zero levels. The RTN directory contains the Galileo magnetometer processed data in RTN coordinates. This system places Br along the Sun-spacecraft line with the positive direction away from the sun. Bphi is along the direction of the Sun spin axis crossed with the radial axis. Btheta is in the direction of Bphi crossed with the radial axis.
