- This product includes total proton and alpha particle flux data (1.8-8.1 MeV) from the Cosmic Ray
instrument on Voyager 2 from the Jupiter encounter. The data contains
15 minute averages of the total proton and alpha particle flux.
The data provide the total proton flux between about 1.8 and 8.1 MeV with
a small admixture of alpha particles. Accidental coincidences become
substantial at higher rates and the flux derived from pulse-height analysis
should be used if accuracy is desired.
