The duration is the number of seconds from start of the first mode until start of the last mode. Duration is related to the length of an instrument cycle. Several different spin modes are required to gather all of the data necessary to compute these parameters. The timing was variable, dependent on telemetry rate and compressibility of the data, so duration varies considerably.
