DESCRIPTION = "The MIMI stare/spin mode files are comma
delimited files, containing either spin or stare mode start and stop times,
spin mode, spin direction and spin direction validity values. The spin
and stare modes are determined by the MIMI DPU using the current
spacecraft spin rate about the spacecraft Z axis. The values are
(0=Stare, 1=Spin). Spin and stare mode does affect how INCA images are
collected. The spin direction flag values are (0 = clockwise, 1 = counter
clockwise and 2 = both). During some spacecraft manuvers, the instrument
interprets the motion as a spin about the spacecraft Z axis, and can
erroneously detect both directions. These spins will be reported to
have a spin direction as 2. The validity flag values are
(0 = invalid (or for stare mode), 1 = valid). The spin direction
validity flag is only included when the instrument detects a spin and
is 0 otherwise. During spacecraft spin up and spin down periods, the
spin direction can be difficult to detect and if the spin is short
and the direction value is not trusted, it will be marked as invalid. "
