Voyager 1 Planetary Radio Astronomy Receiver (PRA) Jupiter Bundle Readme Introduction ============ This document contains information pertaining to the Voyager 1 Planetary Radio Astronomy Receiver (PRA) Jupiter Bundle, which includes PRA calibrated Hi-Res low frequency receiver band data and resampled summary browse data. It includes data recorded during the Voyager 1 Jupiter Encounter and submitted to the Planetary Data System (PDS) by Voyager PRA investigators. This archive includes coverage of the full Jupiter Encounter Phase, which has been defined as 1979-01-06 to 1979-04-13. These dates include the Voyager 1 Jupiter 'near encounter' interval as well as corresponding to Voyager 1's first and last crossings of the Jovian bowshock. This bundle is organized into several collections, including data-averaged-48sec, data-lowband-6sec and document. PDS4 documentation is all XML. There is an XML label for every product in the archive. Every effort has been made to insure that the data are of the best quality available. However, users are encouraged to verify the correctness of the data prior to submitting any publications or other work based on these data and report any issues to PDS/PPI. This is a PDS4 archive of the following PDS data sets: VG1-J-PRA-3-RDR-LOWBAND-6SEC-V1.0 (https://doi.org/10.17189/1519898) VG1-J-PRA-4-SUMM-BROWSE-48SEC-V1.0 (https://doi.org/10.17189/1519899) These data sets were originally archived under PDS3 in the VGPR_1201 and VG_1501 volumes. Under the PDS3 standard all archives were self contained and could in principle be stored in a single file system (disk, CD-ROM, etc.). PDS4 takes advantage of the modern network capabilities that allow archives to be distributed. As a result, some of the documents and meta data previously stored in the PDS3 catalog files are no longer maintained locally, but are maintained in a central repository. Those files are referenced by unique PDS logical identifiers that are included in the document collection inventory.
