This release includes corrections to the "BINS_SC" and "DEAD" parameters. "BINS_SC" is an integer array used to identify angle bins that include spacecraft surfaces. The program generating the "BINS_SC" array had two errors that partly cancelled placing the spacecraft in roughly the correct location. New code corrects these errors. "DEAD" is a dead-time and detector droop correction array. The program generating the array requires knowledge of background counts due to penetrating radiation and radioactive decay in the detectors (which normally dominates) in order to calculate detector efficiency. These background rates are generally small and assumed constant - true for most of the MAVEN mission. That assumption was invalid for the SEP event in mid-September 2017. Modifications to the code generating the "DEAD" array were made to calculate the variable background rates and obtain a more accurate detector efficiency calculation. These corrections primarily impact the data on Sep 11-14, 2017, although there may be small corrections for weaker SEP events earlier in the mission. 3.1 2018-08-14 MAVEN Release 14 (2018-08-15): This version is an incremental release of the STATIC calibrated archive, including the initital release of 2018-02-15 to 2018-05-14. Data set coverage is 2014-09-22 to 2019-05-14. 4.0 2019-11-27 MAVEN Release 19 (2019-11-15): This version is a full re-release of all of the STATIC calibrated released to date, and the initial release of data covering 2019-05-15 to 2019-08-14. Full coverage is 2014-10-13 to 2019-08-14. Updates to the data in this release include the following: - The ephemeris data (pos_sc_mso) were modified to be the center time of the measurement rather than the start time. This amounts to a 2 second time shift for most products. For averaged data products, like the D0 product, the time shift is larger depending on the averaging time. - The magnetometer (magf) was also modified to use the center time rather than the start time. - An error in the calculations of magf was introduced a couple years ago. Early data CDFs were correct (except for a small time shift described above), but more recent data were incorrect. The new CDFs correct these magf data. - The quantities magf and pos_sc_mso were included in the STATIC structures for convenience so that these information would not have to be acquired elsewhere for analysis. For most science purposes they are not used. - A 20% change in absolute geometric factor for the STATIC sensor based on cross calibrations with LPW. 4.1 2020-02-14 MAVEN Release 20 (2020-02-15): This version is an incremental release of the STATIC calibrated archive. Data Processing Notes ===================== Data Timing Uncertainty ----------------------- Some of the data files in this bundle may extend beyond the time for which the Spacecraft Clock (SCLK) drift rate was defined based upon the SPICE MAVEN SCLK kernel used to process them. As a result the SCLK drift rate may have been predicted, resulting in small errors in the time (typically less than a few 1/100's seconds). Where this may be the case a note has been included in the individual PDS product labels.
