InSight Release 14 (2022-09-30) includes raw, partially processed, and calibrated IFG data, and spacecraft engineering data, nominally for sols 1200 to 1290 for the InSight landed mission. However, due to lander power limitations, the IFG was only powered on for a few partial SOLs between 1200 and 1241. S/C enginering data are provided for every SOL up to 1255, when data acquisition was terminated low power. There will be no more IFG data acquired by InSight unless there is a natural solar panel cleaning event. There is no longer enough power to operate the IFG or the APPS. InSight Release 13 (2022-07-01) includes raw, partially processed, and calibrated IFG data, and spacecraft engineering data, nominally for sols 1110 to 1200 for the InSight landed mission. However, due to lander power limitations, the IFG was only powered on for a few SOLs and partial SOLs between 1143 and 1196. There is a large field rotation artifaction in the data from SOL 1188 between 2022-03-31 05:00 - 06:00 which is identified in the data quality flag. S/C enginering data are provided for every SOL up to 1177, when data acquisition was terminated by a spacecraft safing (power too low). InSight Release 12 (2022-04-01) includes raw, partially processed, and calibrated IFG data, and spacecraft engineering data, nominally for sols 1020 to 1109 for the InSight landed mission. However, due to lander power limitations, the IFG was only powered on for a few SOLs and partial SOLs between 1056 and 1106. S/C enginering data are provided for eevery SOL up to 1107, when data acquisition was terminated by a spacecraft safing (power too low). InSight Release 11 (2022-01-01) was not made by IFG. The instrument was never on during the time period covered by this release. S/C engineering data from release 11 are included in the release 12 delivery. InSight Release 10 (2021-10-01) includes raw, partially processed, and calibrated IFG data, and spacecraft engineering data, nominally for sols 840-929 for the InSight landed mission. However, due to lander power limitations, the IFG was only powered on for a few partial SOLs (905 - 910) during the time period covered by this release. S/C enginering data are provided for eevery SOL. InSight Release 9 (2021-07-01) includes raw, partially processed, and calibrated IFG data, and spacecraft engineering data, nominally for sols 750-839 for the InSight landed mission. However, due to lander power limitations, the IFG was only powered on for a few hours of a single SOL (775) during the time period covered by this release. S/C enginering data are provided for eevery SOL. InSight Release 8 (2021-04-01) includes raw, partially processed, and calibrated IFG data, and spacecraft engineering data, nominally for sols 669-749 for the InSight landed mission. This release is shortened because IFG was powered off after SOL 736. SOLs 709-719 are missing becuase IFG was powered off to save power. InSight Release 7 (2021-01-04) includes raw, partially processed, and calibrated IFG data, and spacecraft engineering data, nominally for sols 570-668 for the InSight landed mission. This release was extended by 8 SOLs in order to have a complete Mars year in the archive. Note: Data from the last half of sol 567 through 577 were lost to a planned APSS safing event to conserve power. There are a large number of long data gaps in this release due to insufficient power generation. Since IFG is a lower priority investigation, it was frequently powered down during this time interval. When possible, the IFG was powered on to cover MAVEN flyover times the began in mid October. A large step (~32 nT) was removed from the B_north component of the data. The "steps" in these data occurred over a period of about an hour. The data were corrected by rotating the calibrated data in the SC frame back to the IFG frame, where the steps occur in both the Bx_IFG and By_IFG components. During the step transitions, the data were fixed to a constant value and a few minutes of data near the step onset and termination were linearly interpolated between the last "good" value and the fixed value (and vice-versa) to smooth out the transitions. The DQF value for time intervals where the B components were either fixed or interpolated were set to 55555555555555 to indicate invalid data. InSight Release 6 (2020-10-01) IFG data includes raw, partially processed, and calibrated data, for sols 473-569 and spacecraft engineering for sols 480-469 the InSight landed mission. Note: Data from the last half of sol 567, and all of 568 and 569 were lost to a planned APSS safing event to reduce power usage. Data acquired on April 05, 2020 are contaminated from an undetermined source from about 01:20 (SOL 482.6) to about 19:30 (SOL 483.3). There are a combination of abrupt changes and large gradients in this time interval that could not be corrected. These data should not be used for science. Calibrated and partially calibrated data from release 5, sols 473-479 are redelivered with this release. A large step (~20 nT) was removed from the Bx_IFG component in the and the resulting data were then "destepped" and rotated into the lander level frame. The PolynomialFits.txt file included in this release has new parameters begining in sol 473. Raw data were not impacted by this data processing issue. ============================================================================= InSight Release 5 (2020-07-01) IFG data includes raw, partially processed, and calibrated data, for sols 004-479 and spacecraft engineering for sols 390-479 the InSight landed mission. All of the IFG data from releases 1-4 are redelivered in this release. Earlier versions of the data were found to contain an error in the MLST column, which was reporting true LST rather than the mean value. Reprocessed data now contain two LST columns: MLST with the mean time and TLST with the true time. The SIS has been updated to describe the new data file structures and processing. The spacecraft ancillary data are not impacted by this error, so only new data from the release 5 time interval are included. ============================================================================= InSight Release 4 (2020-04-01) IFG data includes raw, partially processed, and calibrated data, and spacecraft engineering for sols 300-389 of the InSight landed mission, plus raw 20Hz data from SOLs 210-299 that were accidentally omitted from release 3. The timing of the data for this release was determined by using NSY_SCLKSCET.00016.tsc which fully covers the release time interval. The IFG team determined that there was no need to reprocess and redeliver the data from release 3 with this release. On November 17, 2019 the spacecraft began providing IFG housekeeping (HSK) data, including the electronics temperature, every 900 seconds. Prior to this date, HSK were returned irregularly, approximately 3 times per SOL. After 11/17/19, the modelET values used in the IFG calibration are determined by linearly interpolating between actual ET values. Prior to this time, the PAE box temperature values were used as a proxy for the electronics temperature. Please refer to the discussion in the IFG SIS for details. ============================================================================= InSight Release 3 (2019-12-19) IFG data includes raw, partially processed, and calibrated data, and spacecraft engineering for the first 299 sols of the InSight landed mission. In addition, all of the MAG data (raw, partial, calibrated) from release 1 were redelivered in release 2. An error in the column order of the sensor and electronics temperature colums was discovered and corrected. This did not impact the calibrated data files that do not contain these columns. The project did not provide an updated SCLK kernel required to properly convert time values to UTC in time to meet the PDS delivery deadline associated with release 3. Data in this this release were processed using NSY_SCLKSCET.00014.tsc which provides correct timing through 2019-07-01. The correct kernel for this time interval is NSY_SCLKSCET.00015.tsc. After the end of the information in SCLK kernel 14, the drift in the onboard SCLK varies with time by a small amount. SCLK values converted to UTC 00:00 on on 2019-08-01 and 2019-09-30 using kernel 15 give times that are 15 ms earlier and 0.03 ms later respectively when UTC is computed using SCLK kernel 14. While a two-point sample is not exhaustive, it demonstrates that the issue is not likely to have much impact on the analysis of the magnetic field data. This release also includes a new set of calibration files that have not been included in previous releases. These files contain all of the model temperature and solar array currents, the actual sparse data values that are being modeled, and the impact (dB's) that is attributed to the combination of these parameters on the observed magnetic and removed during the calibration process. ============================================================================= InSight Release 2 (2019-09-23) IFG data includes raw, partially processed, and calibrated data, and spacecraft engineering for the first 209 sols of the InSight landed mission. In addition, all of the MAG data (raw, partial, calibrated) from release 1 were redelivered in release 2. An error in the time tag associated with the MAG sensor temperature values was discovered and corrected in the raw data and propagated through the data processing pipeline. This error most strongly affected data acquired between about 06:30 and 09:30 MLST when the temperature was rising quickly. The calibrated 0.2Hz data have some additional processing added to remove some of the artifacts in the data set. An initial version of a data spike and square-wave step removal process was added to the calibration procedure of the 0.2 Hz data in spacecraft coordinates. These features remain in the partially processed data. The difference between the values of (Bx_SC, By_SC, and Bz_SC) in the calibrated versus partially processed data is the correction that has been applied. ============================================================================= The InSight Release 1b (2019-06-26) IFG data includes IFG raw, partially processed, and calibrated data for the first 119 sols of the InSight landed mission. Issues reported with the raw data release 1a have been corrected in this release. ============================================================================= The InSight Release 1a (2019-05-24) IFG data included the following known issues. They will be corrected in Release 1b. All of these are metadata issues. They do not affect the usability of the data. 1) The labels do no include either insight:sol_number, or the combination of insight:start_sol_number and insight:stop_sol_number as required in the InSight Local Data Dictionary (LDD). 2) The format used for the IFG insight:spacecraft_clock_start_count and insight:spacecraft_clock_stop_count do not match the formation rule defined in the InSight LDD. The formation rule expects "597766765-00000", while IFG is providing "597766765.000". 3) The PDS Validate tool reports a discepancy in the partially processed data between the field_format described in the label and that of a number the actual data fields.
