PDS_VERSION_ID = PDS3 RECORD_TYPE = FIXED_LENGTH RECORD_BYTES = 80 OBJECT = TEXT PUBLICATION_DATE = 1999-09-01 NOTE = "Description of contents of CALIB directory " END_OBJECT = TEXT END The CALIB directory contains binary and ASCII receiver frequency files -- in this case, sometimes known as POCA files. A POCA file gives the frequency and rate of change of frequency of the DSN receiver Programmable Oscillator Control Assembly. The POCA is the DSN module which actively tunes the receiver to follow a drifting spacecraft signal (the software equivalent of the receiver's local oscillator). Each file is accompanied by a detached PDS label. Each label is an ASCII file with 80 character records. Records are delimited by the ASCII carriage-return (ASCII 13) line-feed (ASCII 10) pair at the end of each line (positions 79 and 80). The files are: CALINFO.TXT This file, which gives a brief summary of the directory contents. VG2SPOC1.DAT This binary POCA file, provided by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, was part of the Voyager Radio Science data delivery. The data file is accompanied by a minimal PDS label with name VG2SPOC1.LBL. The format and contents of the file are described in file RSC_11_5.TXT in the DOCUMENT directory. VG2SPOC2.TAB This is an ASCII conversion of the binary POCA file VG2SPOC2.DAT. It is stored as a PDS TABLE object. The file gives frequency and frequency rate of the receiver local oscillator at one second increments during the Voyager 1 Saturn radio occultation. The detailed format and contents of the file are described in the accompanying PDS label file VG2SPOC2.LBL.
