END_OBJECT = TEXT END Non-Standard Practices The PDS standards do not specify where to store the required MD5 checksum file for a volume. We have placed it in the root dietary of the volume with the file name "CHECKSUMS.TXT". This may be considered invalid by some verifiers. ============================================================================ Version 1.1 Voyager Data Sets Some of the Voyager data sets were previously archived with the PDS and NSSDC as version 1.0. Changes to the version 1.1 data sets generally include minor changes to the style of the time column and flag values, and upgrading of labels and catalog templates to PDS version 3. These version 1.1 data sets supersede any previously archived data sets. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ASCII data file record formats ASCII data tables contained in this volume are fixed width and space delimited. The PDS Standards recommend using fixed width comma delimited fields in ASCII tables. In general this recommendation was not followed in order to provide data in the same format in which they were originally provided to PDS. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- /DOCUMENT/*/*.ASC and /DOCUMENT/*/*.HTM files Copies of previously published documents found on the /DOCUMENT/ sub- directories contain some known misspellings. These either result from misspellings that follow the original documents or else errors introduced in the conversion of these documents to ASCII and HTML format. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- /CATALOG/VG_*_PERSON.CAT In the CATALOG/VG_*_PERSON.CAT file the PERSONNEL_INFORMATION object contains the element NOTE which is neither required nor optional, but does provide the user with valuable information. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- This volume was built 2011-05-05. Previously, the volume consisted of several smaller volumes, VG_2311- VG_2338, which have been combined into this one comprehensive volume. The original ODR directory was renamed DATA. 2015-08-11: After consulting with the original data provider, changes were made in the CALIB directory. The labels for both the .TAB and .DAT files were updated, correcting errors in data type and descriptions. It was found that VG1SPOC2.TAB and VG1SPOC4.TAB were identical, so VG1SPOC2.TAB was deleted to avoid confusion. The following is the original errata for VG_23**, dated 8 Sept 1999, by R.A. Simpson at Stanford University: CORRECTIONS AND NOTES ============================================================================== VG_2312 Spacecraft ID was unexpectedly found to be 95 in (at least) the first two records of ODR/VJ6217AA.ODR. VG_2319 At least one record was lost due to deterioration of the original VJ6082 magentic tape. ODR/VJ6082AA.ODR and ODR/VJ6082BB.ODR are the two file 'fragments' of good data that were recovered. VJ6082AA.ODR contains about 1 second1 of data; VJ6082BB.ODR contains about 100 seconds. VG_2319 PREPPOWER plot was not generated in BROWSE/VJ6009AA.PS. PREPPOWER and PREPLOOK plots were not generated in BROWSE/VJ6092AA.PS because there is not enough data in the ODR. VG_2322 Spacecraft ID was unexpectedly found to be 95 in (at least) the first two records of ODR/VJ6398AA.ODR and ODR/VJ6420AA.ODR. VG_2328 PREPPOWER plot was not generated in BROWSE/VJ6105AA.PS. VG_2329 VJ6164AA.ODR was not included in the ODR directory because the file could not be found when the archive was created. Users should find equivalent data in VJ6278AA.ODR on VG_2315. VG_2332 Spacecraft ID was unexpectedly found to be 95 in (at least) the first two records of ODR/VJ6537AA.ODR. VG_2333 Spacecraft ID was unexpectedly found to be 95 in (at least) the first two records of ODR/VJ6533AA.ODR and ODR/VJ6547AA.ODR. VG_2334 One record was lost due to deterioration of the original VJ6565 magnetic tape. ODR/VJ6565AA.ODR and ODR/VJ6565BB.ODR are the two file 'fragments' of good data that were recovered. VJ6565AA.ODR contains 5179 records of data; VJ6565BB.ODR contains 820 records. The first good time tag in VJ6565BB.ODR is in record 41. VG_2335 Spacecraft ID was unexpectedly found to be 95 in (at least) the first two records of ODR/VJ6558AA.ODR.
