PDS_VERSION_ID = PDS3 RECORD_TYPE = FIXED_LENGTH RECORD_BYTES = 80 OBJECT = TEXT PUBLICATION_DATE = 2015-08-11 NOTE = "Description of contents of CALIB directory " END_OBJECT = TEXT END The CALIB directory contains binary and ASCII receiver frequency files. A 'sky frequency' file gives the expected spacecraft carrier frequency at the feed of the DSN receiving station antenna. A POCA file gives the frequency and rate of change of frequency of the DSN receiver Programmable Oscillator Control Assembly. The POCA is the DSN module which actively tunes the receiver to follow a drifting spacecraft signal (the software equivalent of the receiver's local oscillator). Each file is accompanied by a detached PDS label. Each label is an ASCII file with 80 character records. Records are delimited by the ASCII carriage-return (ASCII 13) line-feed (ASCII 10) pair at the end of each line (positions 79 and 80). The files are: CALINFO.TXT This file, which gives a brief summary of the directory contents. VG1SPOC1.DAT This file, provided to the Voyager Radio Science Team by Don Sweetnam of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, gave Voyager 1 sky frequencies in a non-ASCII character format. The data file is accompanied by a minimal PDS label with name VG1SPOC1.LBL which briefly explains the character coding. VG1SPOC3.DAT This file, provided to the Voyager Radio Science Team by Don Sweetnam of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, gave Voyager 1 sky frequencies in a non-standard binary format. The data file is accompanied by a minimal PDS label with name VG1SPOC3.LBL which briefly explains the record format. VG1SPOC4.TAB This is an ASCII conversion of the VG1SPOC3.DAT file. It is stored as a PDS TABLE object. The file gives sky frequency as a function of time. The detailed format and contents of the file are described in the accompanying PDS label file VG1SPOC4.LBL. VG1SPOC5.DAT This binary POCA file, provided by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, was part of the Voyager Radio Science data delivery. The data file is accompanied by a minimal PDS label with name VG1SPOC5.LBL. The format and contents of the file are described in file RSC_11_5.TXT in the DOCUMENT directory. VG1SPOC6.TAB This is an ASCII conversion of the binary POCA file VG1SPOC6.DAT. It is stored as a PDS TABLE object. The file gives frequency and frequency rate of the receiver local oscillator at one second increments during the Voyager 1 Saturn radio occultation. The detailed format and contents of the file are described in the accompanying PDS label file VG1SPOC6.LBL.
