Data Errors =========== MAG HIGH RES ASCII (STANDARD_DATA_PRODUCT_ID = "PVO MAG HR ASCII") ------------------------------------------------------------------ Previous versions of these data files (PRODUCT_VERSION_ID = 1) have contained bad Bz VSO data values. The data values tended to be hover around 0 nT and a B-field magnitude computed from the VSO B-field components did not match the B-field magnitude (BT) values that were included in with the data. Version 2.0 of this data set includes new versions of some of the data products. Previous versions (PRODUCT_VERSION_ID = 1) of the MAG high resolution ASCII data files (STANDARD_DATA_PRODUCT_ID = 'PVO MAG HR ASCII') contained bad Bz VSO data values. The data values tended to be hover around 0 nT and a B-field magnitude computed from the VSO B-field components did not match the B-field magnitude (BT) values that were included in with the data. These data were regenerated with the VSO coordinates recalculated from the spacecraft coordinates (SC) B-field using the PVO VSO spin axis information contained in the PVO VSO Ephemeris data set (PVO-V-POS-5--VSOCOORDS-12SEC-V1.0) to to perform the coordinate rotation. The ASCII SC data were taken directly from the binary version of the data (STANDARD_DATA_PRODUCT_ID = 'PVO MAG HR BINARY'), though data values greater than 1000. nT or less than -1000. nT were set to flag values. In addition the ancillary engineering (ENGR) and instrument status (INSTSTAT) were regenerated setting bad data to flag values. The original, unflagged data values are available in the binary version of the same data. Non-standard practices ====================== The PDS standards do not specify where to store the required MD5 checksum file for a volume. We have placed it in the root directory of the volume with the file name "CHECKSUMS.TXT". This may be considered invalid by some verifiers.
