The INDEX directory contains index and label ASCII text files specified
above.  Each line (or record) in INDEX.TAB contains information about a
single data file in this data archive volume.  Each line in a *.TAB file
is made up of comma-delimited fixed-length fields.  Each line or record is
of fixed length and delimited by an ASCII carriage return <CR> and a line
feed <LF>.
