END_OBJECT = TEXT END Volume JNOJAD_5001 Juno JADE Derived Data (CODMAC L-5) Flight Software Version 4 Data ============================================================================== Brief Volume Description ============================================================================== This data set consists of calibrated (L3) JADE data produced by the JADE (Jovian Auroral Plasma Distributions Experiment) on-board the Juno spacecraft. The JADE data included in this data set are identical to those in the JADE Calibrated data set (JNO-J/SW-JAD-3-CALIBRATED-V1.0). In addition, this data set includes Juno MAG data in spacecraft (PL), and JSS (PC) coordinates, and pitch angles. The DATA directory contains the data files produced by the JADE team. The data files are binary files that produced by the JADE processing pipeline with the JADE L3 binary data from the JNO-J/SW-JAD-3-CALIBRATED-V1.0 data set as input. The DATA directory is divided into subdirectories. The first two levels of division are based on time; data are organized into yearly subdirectories, which are further divided into daily sub-subdirectories. Each daily sub-directory is sub-divided into sub-directories by data type which include the following: ELECTRONS ION_SPECIES ION_TOF For the details of file naming or additional information abou the processing pipeline please refer to the JADE archive SIS document (DOCUMENT/JADE_SIS). Users of these data are encouraged to acknowledge both the PDS and the principal investigators of the instruments whose data are used in analysis in all publications. Please use the CITATION_DESC found in the file CATALOG/JADE_DS.CAT for citing this data set. ============================================================================== Volume Set Information ============================================================================== This volume is part of the Juno JADE volume set. This volume set includes the following volumes: Volume ID Description -------------------------------------------------------- JNOJAD_2001 Juno JADE Uncalibrated FSW3 data JNOJAD_2002 Juno JADE Uncalibrated FSW4 data JNOJAD_3001 Juno JADE Calibrated data JNOJAD_5001 Juno JADE Calibrated data with MAG and Pitch Angles JNOJAD_5002 Juno JADE Derived Moments data ============================================================================== Mission Facts ============================================================================== The 'Juno Mission Phases' table below provides a list of mission phases for the Juno mission. It includes the phase start date and phase name. Descriptions of each of these mission phases are provided in the file: CATALOG/MISSION.CAT. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Juno Mission Phases ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Start Mission Date Phase ============================================================================== 2011-08-05 Launch 2011-08-08 Inner Cruise 1 2011-10-10 Inner Cruise 2 2013-05-28 Inner Cruise 3 2013-11-05 Quiet Cruise 2016-01-05 Jupiter Approach 2016-07-01 Jupiter Orbital Insertion 2016-07-05 Prime Mission 2021-07-03 Extended Mission ============================================================================== File Formats ============================================================================== The data files on this volume are files are ASCII CSV tables. The data files have detached PDS labels. The PDS label is an ASCII file containing information describing spacecraft, target, and observation parameters characterizing the associated data file. A data set description, instrument description, and other PDS documents are in .CAT files in the /CATALOG directory. In some versions of the Microsoft Windows operating system the .CAT by default is reserved as 'Security Catalog.' The .CAT files contained in this volume are ASCII text files, and can be read by any form of text editor. To make Windows open files with this name extension as text files right click the .CAT file, select with and choose a text editor to open the file. Additional documentation is located in the DOCUMENT directory. ============================================================================== Errata ============================================================================== Every effort has been made to assure that the data and documentation are of the best possible quality. However, mistakes are inevitable. There is a file called ERRATA.TXT found at the root level of this volume which contains a list of known deficiencies or caveats associated with data on this volume at the time this volume was produced. ============================================================================== Volume Contents and Structure ============================================================================== This section describes the volume structure and naming conventions. Below is a tree diagram of the volume, followed by a description of the directory function and key files in each directory. JNOJAD_5001 (root directory) | |- AAREADME.TXT Describes volume contents, and organization (this file) | |- ERRATA.TXT Describes known deficiencies or caveats in the data on | this volume. | |- VOLDESC.CAT High level description of volume contents. | |- [CATALOG] PDS catalog files containing information describing the | data, instrument, instrument personnel, relevant references, | the spacecraft, and mission. | |- [DATA] Contains the data. The DATA directory is subdivided into | separate subdirectories by year and day of year. | |- [DOCUMENT] Contains documents important to the understanding and use | of the data on this archive volume. | |- [INDEX] Contains a list of all data products on this volume. ============================================================================ Contacts ============================================================================ This volume was produced for the Planetary Data System (PDS) at the Planetary Plamsa Interactions (PPI) node. The data, associated metadata, and documentation were supplied by Dr. Robert J. Wilson at LASP. The volume was assembled and delivered to PDS at the Juno Science Operations Center (JSOC), by Eric Fattig. Users are encouraged to provide feedback on any errors or omissions found in the data or documentation. For question regarding the data please contact Dr. Robert Wilson at LASP: Email rob.wilson@lasp.colorado.edu For questions or problems regarding PDS standards or volume organization please contact Joseph Mafi at the PDS PPI Node: Email jmafi@igpp.ucla.edu The PDS assumes no legal liability for errors on this disk. All users are encouraged to verify the correctness of the data prior to submitting any publications or other work based on these data. Please report errors on this volume to the PDS/PPI node through the ERRATA reporting procedures described above.
