END_OBJECT = TEXT END Volume JNOJAD_3001 Juno JADE Calibrated (CODMAC L-3) Flight Software Version 4 Data ============================================================================== Brief Volume Description ============================================================================== This data set consists of all of the calibrated flight software version 4 (FSW4) data collected by the JADE (Jovian Auroral Plasma Distributions Experiment) on-board the Juno spacecraft. The DATA directory contains the data files produced by the JADE team. The data files are binary files that result from passing the corresponding Level 2 files through the processing pipeline. The DATA directory is divided into subdirectories. The first two levels of division are based on time; data are organized into yearly subdirectories, which are further divided into a number of daily sub-subdirectories. The data files are divided in sub-directories of the daily directories by data type, which may include the following: ELECTRONS - JADE electron data (all electron sensors) ION_LOGICALS - JADE ion Logicals data ION_SPECIES - JADE ion species data (for various ion species) ION_TOF - JADE ion time of flight data For the details of file naming please refer to the JADE archive SIS document (DOCUMENT/JADE_SIS). Users of these data are encouraged to acknowledge both the PDS and the principal investigators of the instruments whose data are used in analysis in all publications. Please use the CITATION_DESC found in the file CATALOG/JADE_DS.CAT for citing this data set. ============================================================================== Volume Set Information ============================================================================== This volume is part of the Juno JADE volume set. This volume set includes the following volumes: Volume ID Description -------------------------------------------------------- JNOJAD_2001 Juno JADE Uncalibrated FSW3 data JNOJAD_2002 Juno JADE Uncalibrated FSW4 data JNOJAD_3001 Juno JADE Calibrated data JNOJAD_5001 Juno JADE Derived data ============================================================================== Mission Facts ============================================================================== The 'Juno Mission Phases' table below provides a list of mission phases for the Juno mission. It includes the phase start date and phase name. Descriptions of each of these mission phases are provided in the file: CATALOG/MISSION.CAT. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Juno Mission Phases ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Start Mission Date Phase ============================================================================== 2011-08-05 Launch 2011-08-08 Inner Cruise 1 2011-10-10 Inner Cruise 2 2013-05-28 Inner Cruise 3 2013-11-05 Quiet Cruise 2016-01-05 Jupiter Approach 2016-06-30 Jupiter Orbital Insertion 2016-07-05 Capture Orbit 2016-10-19 Period Reduction Maneuver 2016-10-20 Orbits 1-2 2016-11-09 Science Orbits 2017-10-11 Deorbit ============================================================================== File Formats ============================================================================== The data files on this volume are files are binary tables. The data files have detached PDS labels. The PDS label is an ASCII file containing information describing spacecraft, target, and observation parameters characterizing the associated data file. A data set description, instrument description, and other PDS documents are in .CAT files in the /CATALOG directory. In more recent versions of the Microsoft Windows operating system the .CAT by default is reserved as 'Security Catalog.' The .CAT files contained in this volume are ASCII text files, and can be read by any form of text editor. To make Windows open files with this name extension as text files right click the .CAT file, select with and choose a text editor to open the file. Additional documentation is located in the DOCUMENT directory. ============================================================================== Errata ============================================================================== Every effort has been made to assure that the data and documentation are of the best possible quality. However, mistakes are inevitable. There is a file called ERRATA.TXT found at the root level of this volume which contains a list of known deficiencies or caveats associated with data on this volume at the time this volume was produced. NOTE: 2022-09-02 Version 01 and Version 02 files have no background removed from the DATA. Version 03 files (JADE-E only, there are no version 03 JADE-I files) had a time independent background removed. Version 04 files have a background removed with a time dependent backround (per-orbit coefficients for the background calculations). In all cases, the background removed from DATA is provided in the BACKGROUND object. ============================================================================== Volume Contents and Structure ============================================================================== This section describes the volume structure and naming conventions. Below is a tree diagram of the volume, followed by a description of the directory function and key files in each directory.
