Software provided by the MAG team will read MRO files and extract all MAG data into IGPP flatfiles (binary). IGPP flatfiles can be converted to ASCII using the PDS supplied software FFEXTRACT. Both pieces of software are contained on the archive volume along with the EDR data files. MAG memory covers the HEX addresses 4700 - 4D4F. Addresses 4700 - 47FF contain instrument status words including the optimal averager start time. Addresses 4800 - 4CFF contain the MAG vector data. In order to conserve downlink, 4700 - 47FF commonly were not returned. The sequence must be consulted to determine the start time for the data in these MROs. IMPORTANT: Start/stop times refer to the time the memory readout, not the time of the data read out.
