END_OBJECT = TEXT END Trigger 94 Description Sequence: C15 (ESB) Trigger 94 (ESB Langmuir Probe Checkout) This mode is designed to test the Langmuir Probe and verify its proper operation. For about 10 minutes the LP performs once-per-minute down-up full-range sweeps, followed by 20-Hz density measurements for ~50 seconds. The rest of the RPWS instrument continues to run in the mode defined by Trigger 8C, although the WBR is paused for a second whenever a Langmuir Probe sweep is performed. Thus, this mode provides a Survey with fast temporal resolution and standard spectral resolution for periods during Earth Swing-by. Fast Waveform measurements are made in the High-Band mode (0.1 - 2.5 KHz). To achieve this elevated data rate, the low-frequency measurements on LFR are deleted. Wideband Receiver measurements are made in the 10-KHz mode. The RPWS frequency range covered is 23 Hz - 16 MHz. Receiver Frequency Range Sensors Time between Snapshots -------------- ---------------- ------------------ ---------------------- MFR 25 - 12 KHz EX, BZ 32 seconds HFR 3.6 KHz - 16 MHz EX, EW 6.625 seconds WFR .01 - 2.5 KHz EX, EW, BX, BY, BZ 20 seconds WBR .1 - 10 KHz EX 0.375 second Langmuir Probe N/A Probe 60 seconds The HFR is in SKR polarization mode, with no direction-finding. Thus, measurements are made on the dipole EX and the monopole EW. This mode is defined by: Correlations Channels Integ. Size Frequency Band Ant.
