Trigger 14 Description

Sequence: All
Trigger 14 (LF-WBR Mode)
This mode is designed to provide a Survey mode, coupled with Low Frequency Wideband (LF-WBR) measurements. The LF-WBR measurements are done using the WFR in single channel mode; the data is DCC-compressed (using the onboard data compression chip), and because of this, the gain is set to be fixed at 30 dB. Periodic 6-channel Waveform measurements are made also. The entire RPWS frequency range (1 Hz - 16 MHz) is NOT covered, because the LFR data must be deleted to provide the LF-WBR data. Langmuir Probe data is also provided at a high rate; a sweep is done every 10 seconds, and between sweeps a 128-point density measurement is done at a 20 Hz sampling rate.

Receiver Frequency Range Sensors Cycle Time Snapshot Size
MFR 25 - 12 KHz EX, BZ 32 seconds
WFR .05 - 2.5 KHz EX, EW, BX, BY, BZ 341 seconds 512
HFR 3.6 KHz - 16 MHz EX, EW 9.875 seconds
WFR .05 - 2.5 KHz EX 1.5 seconds 10240
LP N/A Langmuir Probe 10 seconds

The HFR is in CMS mode (Composite Mode Survey). No direction-finding is done. This mode is defined by:

Bands ABC require 3.16 sec to complete, H1 requires 5.05 sec, and H2 requires 1.46 sec for a total of 9.67 sec per sweep. Data collection and output limits the snapshot time to 9.875 seconds.
