END_OBJECT = TEXT END The Planetary Data System ULYSSES AT JUPITER SCE RAW RADIO SCIENCE: ATDFS AND ODRS DVD-R (ULY_5101) ============================================================================ Introduction ============================================================================ This DVD-R contains raw Archival Tracking Data Files (ATDFs) and Original Data Records (ODRs) from the Ulysses 'Solar Corona Experiment' (SCE). These data are archived as two separate data sets: data set I.D. 'ULY-J-SCE-1-TDF-V1.0' for the ATDF data, and 'ULY-J-SCE-1-ROCC-V1.0' for the ODR data. The data were acquired during the Ulysses Jupiter encounter. The ATDFs cover 1992-02-04 20:28 to 1992-02-09 15:44. The ODRs cover 1992-02-03 11:20 to 1992-02-09 20:46. These data were provided by Dr. Michael K. Bird (U. Bonn), PI of the SCE investigation. The PDS labels and the text file 'TRK_2_25.TXT' were generated by Dr. Richard A. Simpson of the PDS Radio Science Sub-node (Stanford). This DVD-R volume was organized and produced at the PDS/PPI node (UCLA). Brief Disk Description This volume is organized into 5 principal sub-directories: CATALOG PDS catalog files describing the Ulysses mission, spacecraft, Solar Corona Experiment (SCE), and the associated data sets, personnel and references DATA data files DOCUMENT documents describing the instrument, and data EXTRAS files associated with this volume, but not required for using or understanding the data GEOMETRY copies of the SPK, PCK, and LSK SPICE kernels INDEX index of all user files contained on this volume Important Files and Directories All data files are stored in binary files (*.TDF and *.ODR) in the /DATA branch of the directory tree. The content and format of each data file is described by a detached PDS label file (*.LBL). The file INFO.TXT describes directory contents. The following files contain key information related to the data files described above: CATALOG/PERSON.CAT - contact information for people involved in the production of this volume including the original data supplier CATALOG/REF.CAT - complete bibliographic information on references cited on this volume CATALOG/SCETDFDS.CAT - a high-level description of the ATDF data set CATALOG/SCEODRDS.CAT - a high-level description of the ODR data set DOCUMENT/RSC1110A/RSC1110A.ASC - ASCII copy of document describing ODR data format DOCUMENT/SCEINST/SCEINST.ASC - an ASCII copy of the Ulysses SCE instrument paper. An HTML version of this paper (SCEINST.HTM) is also available DOCUMENT/SPICE.TXT - overview of SPICE data system DOCUMENT/TRK_2_25.TXT - ASCII copy of document describing ATDF data format VOLDESC.CAT - contains volume identification and content information ============================================================================ Associated Data Volumes ============================================================================ Also available from PDS is the 'Ulysses Jupiter Encounter (1992-01-25 to 1992-02-11)' (VOLUME I.D. ULY_5100) CD-ROM. ULY_5100 contains Ulysses data acquired near Jupiter for the following instruments: COSPIN, DDS, EPAC, GAS, GRB, HISCALE, SCE, SWOOPS, URAP, and VHM/FGM. To order this CD-ROM, or obtain information about additional data volumes available through PDS please contact the PDS/PPI node (see the end of this file for contact information). ============================================================================ Documents ============================================================================ Some of the documents provided in the DOCUMENT sub-directories of this volume include copyrighted materials previously published in Astronomy and Astrophysics Supplement Series, Ulysses Instruments Special Issue, Vol. 92, No. 2, pp 207-440, January 1992.
