                  BROWSE/NSO Directory Contents                               
                                                                              
The NSO subdirectory of the BROWSE directory contains a system of             
images and related files that provides a simple method for browsing           
through the NEAR MAG archive.  The images are in PDF format.  The             
system is designed to be viewable by many WWW browsers.                       
                                                                              
The NSO subdirectory has a structure similar to that of the DATA              
directory.  Each subdirectory contains plots of NEAR MAG data in              
the NEAR Sun Orbital (NSO) coordinate system.  NSO coordinates are            
Cartesian coordinates defined with respect to the NEAR-Sun line               
and the orbit plane of Eros.  The X-axis points from NEAR to the Sun,         
the Z direction is given by the Eros velocity vector crossed into X,          
northward normal to the Eros orbital plane, and Y completes the               
right-handed set.  Data used for the plots are the same as those              
provided in ASCII format in this data set.
