PDS_VERSION_ID = PDS3 RECORD_TYPE = STREAM OBJECT = TEXT PUBLICATION_DATE = 1999-10-19 NOTE = "INFO.TXT describes the ephemeris data files available on this volume." END_OBJECT = TEXT END The files in the directory EME50 contain spacecraft ephemeris data for the Lunar Prospector mission. Filenames in this directory follow the pattern Eyyddd.DAT, where yy is the year and ddd is the day of year for the start of the file. Thus, for example, E98032.DAT contains ephemeris data starting on day 32 of 1998 (that is, February 1, 1998). Files named Eyyddd.LBL are detached PDS labels for the corresponding files Eyyddd.DAT. The files are in ASCII format. Each file consists of an ASCII header, which contains a variety of information, followed by an ASCII table. The table has seven columns. The first column represents time; the next three columns give the space coordinates (x, y, and z) in Selenocentric Earth Mean Equatorial (1950) coordinates; and the last three columns contain the velocity components expressed in the same coordinates. Further information on these ephemeris files may be found in the Level 0 Science Interface Specification document, LVL0SIS.PDF, which is located in the DOCUMENT/PROJECT directory. (See the root-level file AAREADME.TXT for further information on the DOCUMENT directory.)
