PDS_VERSION_ID = PDS3 RECORD_TYPE = STREAM OBJECT = TEXT PUBLICATION_DATE = 2000-06-01 NOTE = "Description of contents of CATALOG directory " END_OBJECT = TEXT END The CATALOG directory contains mission, instrument host, reference, personnel, and data set PDS catalog objects for this archive volume. The files follow the 'streamlined' format adopted by the Planetary Data System (PDS) in late 1993 and documented in the Planetary Data System Standards Reference (Version 3.1, 3 August 1994; JPL D-7669, Part 2). Each catalog object is in ASCII, with a maximum of 70 characters per line. Each line is delimited with a carriage-return (ASCII 13) line-feed (ASCII 10) pair. The templates are: CATINFO.TXT =========== A brief description of the files contained within the CATALOG directory. MISSION.CAT =========== A brief description of the mission. It includes a chronology of events, definition of mission phases, and mission objectives. INSTHOST.CAT ============ A description of the Galileo spacecraft. ISOE_DS.CAT =========== A description of the ISOE data set. OAP_DS.CAT =========== A description of the MIRAGE data set. SEF_DS.CAT =========== A description of the SEF data set. SSDF_DS.CAT =========== A description of the ORPRO and SSF data set. PERSON.CAT ========== A listing of key people involved in the analysis and production of the Uplink data. REF.CAT ======= A listing of references used elsewhere in the streamlined templates and of references that might be generally useful in working with this data. UPL_INST.CAT ============ This is the instrument catalog file for the Uplink instrument. The Uplink instrument is not an actual instrument on the spacecraft. It represents the source of the Uplink data as a whole. This source (which, in reality, is a combination of many components) is described as an instrument for the purposes of PDS data cataloging and archiving.
