Volume GOPW_1010 Galileo Orbiter PW High Resolution Data Collection Earth Encounter 2 Flyby Data Planetary Plasma Interactions Subnode of the Planetary Data System ============================================================================== Introduction ============================================================================== This disk contains Earth Encounter 2 Flyby high resolution plasma wave data data from the Galileo Orbiter Magnetosphere's Working Group (MWG) that has been submitted to the Planetary Data System (PDS). Every effort has been made to assure that the data are of the best quality available. However, the PDS and the Planetary Plasma Interactions (PPI) Node in particular, assume no liability for this disk or its contents. All users are encouraged to verify the "correctness" of the data prior to submitting any publications or other work based on these data. The file "index.txt" contains a listing of the data directories. The naming scheme is based on the RIM number of the data. Each directory contains data files that increment within the final significant digit of the directory label. Thus, directory "c006035" contains files incrementing from 60350029.dat to 60359958.dat. The next directory could logically be "c006036" if such files exist. The directory name is constructed from the six most significant decimal digits of the 8-digit SCLK RIM with a prepended letter "c". Individual data files sharing these digits are stored here and are named with the six least sig- nificant digits of the SCLK RIM followed by two digits of the SCLK MOD91 count and a trailing ".dat" extension. For example, all files with start times in the inclusive range of SCLK values from 00603500:00 to 00603599:90 would be stored in a directory named "c006035". All file names would begin with the characters "6035", as in "60351234.dat" for the file beginning at SCLK 00603512:34.
