These CD-ROMs collectively contain 138 datafiles, with detached PDS labels
and cover Galileo Orbiter PPR observations for the mission cruise phases:
(1) initial instrument checkout, (2) Venus encounter, (3) Earth-1 encounter,
(4) Gaspra encounter, (5) Earth-2 encounter, (6) Ida encounter, and
(7) Jupiter/SL9 encounter.

INDEX.TAB and CUMINDEX.TAB are ASCII files.  Each line (or record) in the
INDEX.TAB file contains information about a single file on this volume. 
CUMINDEX.TAB contains a record for every file on both CD-ROMs. Each
line consists of 5 comma-delimited fixed-length fields (or columns).
These fields are character strings enclosed by double quotes.

The INDEX.FMT format file describes the format and content of the
INDEX.TAB file at the byte level.  Specifically, the 5 fields are:


     Product ID; the file name for the archive data file
     Directory name on the archive volume(s)
     Volume ID; the name of the CD-ROM volume, e.g., GOPR_1001
     Data set ID; the data set identifier in PDS abbreviated format
     Type of file
