Galileo Orbiter Magnetometer Instrument Saturation Recovery

Overview
========

  There were two instances over the course of the Galileo mission in which
  the magnetometer became saturated due to magnetic-fields which were larger
  than the magnetometer was configured to measure.

  The first of the instances occurred on 16 December, 1997 during the Europa
  flyby in the Europa 12 orbit. In this case the instrument was configured
  in a mode which would accurately measure fields of up to 512 nT in one
  sensor. However, due to plasma conditions in the region upstream of Europa
  where the flyby took place, the magnetic-field was higher than anticipated
  (an estimated 825 nT magnitude).
